In our previous article, we discussed how JAMB is planning to sanction 180 candidates who tried to engage in examination malpractices via the decoy websites. The exam board says it'll penalize and cancel these candidates’ UTME and Direct Entry (DE) results.
In addition to this penalty, there are other JAMB's malpractices list that involves several and different penalties you're not aware of-- which are part of the reasons JAMB will seize your results.
Why JAMB may seize your UTME results
First of all, it's important to let you know that JAMB previously stated that it would need time to review all UTME results this year before releasing them to candidates. The exam board want to make sure penalized candidates who are involved in any examination malpractices.
They also want to check for accuracy and sort out any glitches. Nevertheless, we anticipate the results will be available by next week.
While awaiting JAMB's official announcement for the 2025 results, candidates should be aware that violating any of the rules listed below could lead to their results being withheld. The list below captures all infractions that can be termed “Exam Malpractice” and can lead to the seizure of a candidate’s result.

These are the list of what JAMB considered as prohibitions in UTME. The list are highlighted in interpretation of their malpractices codes, types and prohibited items.
For candidates to ensure their results are released, they must have not involved in any of the violations tabled above. JAMB has consistently emphasized that if there’s clear proof of any candidate engaging in misconduct, their results will be nullified immediately.
These strict policies are in place to uphold the integrity of the examination process and ensure fairness for all participants. Likewise, if JAMB identifies any instance of rule-breaking or exam malpractice at a specific test center, that center will face closure, and the results of all candidates who took the exam there will be voided.
This measure reflects JAMB’s commitment to maintaining high standards and deterring fraudulent activities, protecting the credibility of the UTME for everyone involved. What do you think about JAMB's means this year? Let's know your opinions in the comments section.
